Angel on My Desk

Happy What's-On-Your-Workdesk Wednesday world! I love blog hopping around from desk to desk, here in the United States and to all the lovely desks across the ocean! My desk is located right in the middle of our country in the Missouri Ozarks. I can't wait to see what's happening in your creative world this week. As for me, I am obsessed with a little angel.

This little angel has been on my mind for a while, and she has finally come to life in linen. I have these beautiful linen DMC flosses, in gorgeous shabby chic colors, and before I knew it, I had designed a little angel with them, complete with a beaded halo planned. Everything spread out on the worktable, and on my laptop I played Etsy.tv continuously. It's great inspiration while I started stitching my angel to life. I snapped a pic right when a video about a lady who cans tomatoes was playing. Love it, cause I also canned tomatoes in the last couple of days!

I was so excited about designing my little angel, that I skipped dinner and stitched all evening long! I love stitching with the beautiful linen flosses.
Now, I'm not bragging, BUT, I've been cross-stitching for over 20 years, and you cannot imagine how many ways I have organized my flosses, and how many systems and containers I've invested in. Yet, here I am now, completely happy with using clothespins for some reason. I don't know. It's just my latest thing, like using the linen flosses, and even linen aida cloth and vintage backing fabrics. It's all so old-fashioned and lovely. So I was thinking, that when I create my handmade cross-stitch kits for my new Etsy store, the floss will come wrapped around clothespins in the kits. Too funny.

Here are a few other close-ups of things around my desk.
My Bible with the bee on the front.
A peek inside my bible--a cross-stitched bookmark, of course.
To me: a jar of happiness.
I'm finally getting to the wings of my little angel. I think I'm getting this done! Yay! Onward and upward.

Eat, Write, Dream, and Stitch it your way.

  8. You DO have a lot going on--I made salsa last week, peeling all those tomatoes, ugh, but it's worth it, yes?

Your little angel looks so sweet, and great idea with the clothespins!

  9. Oh beautiful linen flosses, and the clothes pegs are a great idea! I don't get on with stitching very well, but have always loved haberdashery departments, and could stand staring at colour-graduated cotton reels for ages as a child! Lovely to peek over your shoulder for a while...

  10. The angel is coming along great!!! I used to do cross stitch years ago. Still have lots of floss just in case I get the urge.... I saw about wrapping the floss on clothes pins on pinterest and thought it was so sweet. Good for you to use it for your etsy shop!

Yesterday was my blog anniversary - candy will be announced soon. As part of the candy I'm offering up something made by me -- so come visit and cast your vote (if you've already been - thank you. I'm trying to visit everyone this week so haven't checked in on my comments lately).

    Happy WOYWW

Love the soft ice cream colours you're using for the angel - why should they be in white the whole time? And using beads is inspired :)
