WOYWW 317--Clipboard Crafting

Good morning fellow desker! Happy Wednesday, and happy July!

If you don't know what a "desker" is, you must find out right here at What's-On-Your-Workdesk-Wednesday.

Of course, I have too many projects in the air and my previously neat workdesk is a big ole mess. I decided I wanted a few little clipboards to keep the to-do lists separate. I'm having a yard sale, so I needed a clipboard just for that--I have my price list, my to-do's, and my notes for the day of the sale. I also needed a little clipboard to keep just the everyday lists for grocery shopping, the house, the garden, and my makes--which later I can also stick in my planner.

I tell you, when the organizing bug bit me, it bit me hard!

Anyhoo, I got ahold of some chipboard clipboards! They were, I kid you not, 49 cents at an office supply. Just little plain brown clipboards, perfect for holding more than one post-it note or list pad.

Then I got out the white paint, Mod Podge, sparkly washi tape, and the patterned paper leftovers. I did about four clipboards over the weekend and was able to start using them pretty quickly as they dried. So, I'll post about what I did on them front and back as part of my scrapbook paper stash buster series I've been doing on Tuesday and  Thursday lately if you are interested. I do projects that let you actually keep and enjoy those pretty papers.

Oooh...and I did something really fun last week. I got to work with a chef and demo a new Cerafit color edition ceramic pan for an international infomercial! I was in awe of this chef, and I got to pick out the purple pan and do a stirfry demo in it. Plus, I got paid for having this fun. Woo hoo!

In the meantime, I've got things to price and lists to do! Have a wonderful week.

  1. I do love your organizing ideas - and I love the idea of having a clipboard so I can walk around the house organizing everyone !! Your designs are lovely - I especially like the navy blue and pink dress-making theme - very stylish. Actually, even if that navy blue is black I still love it - it's a little difficult to tell!
Hope you have a great week, and thanks so much for stopping by my desk earlier,

    1. Yes it's navy! Those papers are from a little 4X6 pad of navy and hot pink patterns that I bought in February to help my nephew make a bunch of lolly pop Valentines for his class. I'm still using it for stuff like this!

  3. Ooooh, you're an International Media Megastar now,, please may I have your autograph??! Seriously, that must have been great fun, doing that and getting paid. And purple is an awesome choice :-)
But I have found something that separates us, my dear Soul Sister, because just as the Organising Bug has bitten you, I'm running at a fast lace in the opposite direction!! Lol. I really can't do lists and prep like that, it's just not me, but I really do envy the people who make it work. Good luck with the yard sale, hope it goes well.
It's too hot here, my poor old veggies are wilting in the heat, no matter how much I water them.....were eating a lot of lettuce, green beans and radishes!

    1. I must find a way to call myself an International Media Megastar in public! And we will always be soul sisters across the pond, and we will have our different sides of organization as our ying and yang. I think I like organizing because I love writing lists and I love messing around with lots of papers. That's why, no matter how much technology there is, I'll never be paperless. Poor trees. But you have the spirit tree, and that's why I like it! Ooh...spirit tree for scrapbookers!

  6. You could come and organize a bit here too... Your clipboards look great and I have taken a peek at your stashdash posts, though (luckily) I've never imagined myself scrapbooking, so I don't have loads of designer papers. Happy woyww :)

  7. Lucky you, getting to work on an infomercial. How awesome is that?

I'm trying to organize and purge, too, but I'm having a hard time in this heat. Even the AC is bogged down. I like your new clipboards. They look like something useful. Happy WOYWW from # 3.

  8. Oooh Sandy, these are FUN! What a transformation from the boring cheap old clip boards! Your desk looks nice and industrious. Thank you for your lovely comment, and for your good wishes re my treatments. We'll see what the oncologist says tomorrow. I'm feeling pretty wiped out again this p.m. because I was busy this a.m. No art achieved today I'm afraid! The angels are making extremely slow progress but I'll get there in the end, and hopefully treatment #3 on Friday won't leave me so pooped and I'll be able to get on with them a bit.

    Happy WOYWW,
