Sweet and Simple--WOYWW 215

My workdesk is clean! My workdesk is clean! Hello lovelies.

Welcome to What's-On-Your-Workdesk-Wednesday...here in the summertime Ozarks.

We've had an extremely unusual cool front come through and it made last weekend heavenly! I was so full of vim and vigor, my workdesk has been unusually clean ever since. Just my Smashbook, and knitting my new tank top. I started a page in my Smashbook about my tanktop, because I'm looking at a few different patterns, and as usual, making it up as I go! My art journal is always a great place to sketch things out, make a list and keep track of what I'm doing.

I love this chunky monkey supersoft yarn and these big acrylic knitting needles. It came out to my greenhouse sunporch with me--the perfect place to knit and chat.

Other than that...I'm working my daywork, writing, and trying to get more art journaling done.

I am getting excited about my garden. Although everything seems a little later than usual, I think the tomatoes, herbs, squash and lettuces are doing exceptional! Soon I'll be eating those tomatoes right off the vine.

I bought some fun new t-shirts this week, and love wearing around the upcycled shorts I embroidered. Oh summer...I love you!

Have a happy week and do what you love!

Eat, Write, Dream, Stitch, Relax

  1. HAPPY WOYWW, I'd love to have a cool down, it's HOT in the Southern US. Your making my mouth water with the talk of those Tomato's. I love the color of the yarn.. What are you going to make? I always wanted to learn to knit, but there just aren't enough hours in the day. Have a great week. (((HUGS)))

  2. It's winter here in Brisbane but the days are mostly nice and sunny, but the house gets a bit nippy overnight. Lovely clear desk you have and the knitting looks lovely as do your journal pages. Annette #8

  3. I love clean desks. Yours looks lovely, especially in the light you shot it in. We missed your weather. We were hot, hot, hot as usual. I didn't plant any veggies this year, focusing on herbs only. I hope your tomatoes make it when it turns hot again.

  7. It's winter here and I've been knitting too which I haven't done for years as we've lived in the tropics, but we have a baby coming - our daughter is due in Oct, first time grandparents so excited. You have so many crafty things on the go and garden too, a bit like me .. have a great week

  12. It is always nice when you get a little reprieve from the heat, I think we all make it up as we go along that is the art of creativity.

  13. Your desk is so clean and tidy! Mine is too, but only because it's too hot to craft... The wool looks gorgeous. Helen, 19

  15. What beautiful yarn - I hope you show us the finished product! Isn't it fun when things in the garden do well? We are putting in a yard this year (new house) and I get such a kick out of watching the water beads from the sprinkler hang on the tiny, thin new grass blade. It glistens....happy tomato eating!!

  19. Wow, that is clean - I thought I had done a good job on mine, maybe not. Perhaps if we ever saw an end to the heat here in the UK I might do more, but no I would probably do more painting if it wasnt so damn hot not cleaning LOL.

Very pretty yarn you have their too.

  23. Hi Sandy Leigh, what a happy post, I did enjoy reading it. Nice clean and tidy desk too. You are clearly enjoying the summer, too bad it won't stretch to 51 weeks in the year. Here in Scotland we get a hot summer once in about 10 years so we are certainly making the most of it and that means very little crafting. Enjoy your day and have a great week. Elizabeth x #47

PS: my life is definitely a 'patchwork of creativity' :)

  25. What I wouldn't give for a cool front right now! It's so hot, which is lovely when you're sitting on the patio drinking a cold beer, as I am doing right now! But in school, where there is no air con, it is unbearable!! I love being outside, I really do, but I'm no good in such high temperatures! I must have been a Viking in a previous life ;-)
Like the lol of your chunky monkey wool...it sounds lovely to knit with. The ivory yarn I'm using around the granny squares is soft and beautiful to handle too, I'm really enjoying using it!
Everything is coming along in my veg patch too..I'm just putting the second lot of spinach plants and lettuces in. My cucumbers are doing well too as are the dwarf beans. I love my garden too!

  28. A lovely clean and tidy desk! Enjoy your knitting - its been too hot here to knit - we're not used to heat in N Ireland - so its just been a case of making the best of it while it lasts!

  30. It's always nice to clean up before I start a new project. Most times I just end up getting it all back out though. Knitting is really coming back, I heard. Have fun.
