WOYWW 197--Seed stitches...Seedlings...Journalings

Happy Wednesday from my worktable to yours! Oh what fun we would have if we could all transport our worktables into one huge place together for a day! But then, What's-On-Your-Workdesk-Wednesday is the virtual version of that!

Visit our blog party at Mrs. Dunnit's place in the U.K. right here!

So here I am--one minute I'm totally into my little seed stitch knitting project. Oh, how I love the seed stitch! I'm making big patches for a blankie. Seed stitch is just knit one pearl one--and it makes the most fabulous fabric, and it lays nice and flat. Love it. I could seed stitch for hours. But...
...the next thing I know, I'm in the painting mood. And I'm not a painter. So...I art-journal-face-paint. I love to see those funny little watercolor faces I make up in my art journal with journaling on them! It just makes me happy.
I snapped my worktable photos when I had been working on my art journal, and propped up my picture I'm still painting on to dry. Not long after, I'm in the mood to start more seeds! You all really cracked me up last week with your comments about my plants and their greenhouse showercaps! So fun--and I wanted to show you the first little seedlings that have finally popped up!
Hello little baby roma tomatoes!! You'll grow up to be salsa and pasta sauce someday!
AND...look who hangs out under my worktable. My little boy, Joseph. He thinks my Pier I Imports Ikat pouf is a cat bed...so I have to keep a cover on it, instead of enjoying its beautiful patchworks of India. Oh well--sometimes when the cats are occupied elsewhere, I take the cover off and enjoy it.

Have a beautiful, creative week everyone--it might be 70 degrees here in the Ozarks by Friday. Woo hoo!!!

  1. From the looks Joseph are giving you it is a trial some days to make his Moma understand that if you brings it in the house it is fair game for the kittie! See stitch. I thought knit one purl one was stockinet? I am going to go look that one up! Thanks for sharing. Have a great week. Vickie #1

  12. Great art journal page, love the little face there. There are times I wish I had taken up knitting, but then again I don't even crochet much anymore.

  14. I love the thought of putting all our workdesks together in a big circle and having a day crafting together, wouldn't that be something. I love it.
Your seedlings are sprouting nicely, although I'm not surprised in that lovely temperature. We still have snow here in the UK, can you believe it?? We can't!!

  17. 70degrees??? Good grief, we can only dream of that at the moment. It was so cold yesterday, that when I was on playground duty, I could hardly catch my breath....brrrrr! I'm not even thinking of sowing seeds yet, just too cold in my greenhouse. Roll on the days of Spring....and warmth :) I am sending green fingered vibes for your little seedlings, may they grow strongly!
Your knitting is so pretty, I love seed stitch...it is called moss stitch in the UK. I'm madly knitting again as well, a little cardigan for a soon to be one year old. I'll show it next week. I enjoyed making the needle case, especially as I used scraps. My shops may sound cooler but I bet yours are way cheaper :)

  22. Hi Sandy, lots going on on your desk again this week, the knitting is coming along, I call that stitch moss stitch, it is relaxing to do. I love the thought of 70degrees, but can I be a bit rude and ask where are the Ozarks, I could google them but more fun if you could tell me.
Thanks for sharing and good luck with the plants
