I don't know about you, but I think when your stash gets to a certain point, it's time to start creating inventory for a craft show! Happy What's-On-Your-Workdesk Wednesday--visit the fabulous linky party right here!
I feel so thankful to have had some great quality time in my crafty corner. I've been catching up on my tag-making, designing some cards for a future craft fair, and now my latest obsession is making these adorable bubble wand necklaces. Visit The Frugal Crafter blog to see her wonderful how-to video. Once you start making these things, you can't stop!
I have quite a stash of beads for someone who's not really a jewelry maker. Lots of beads and jewelry-making tools have been given to me, and now I'm finally putting it all to use! These bubble wands are just waiting for their ribbon necklaces to be added, and then they are good to go...ready to dip into some bubbles and blow! I hope these are a hot seller at the craft fair--of which, by the way, I have no idea when or where. I just know in my mind I'm going to find a craft fair somewhere this spring!
At this point I've made so many bubble wand necklaces, my daughter picked one out already, and I had to make a special one (a bit more manly) for hubby, with copper wire and some nice silver and turquoise beads. He loves it! And since he liked it so much, I'm also making some for the nephews with blue and green beads--they still like the simple past-time of blowing bubbles in the wind. I do too! Now onto some earrings and cards. I can't wait for Dancing with the Stars to start next week, Call the Midwife, Mr. Selfridge, and Once Upon a Time is already back--ahhh! too many shows I like! Happy Wednesday lovelies!

ReplyDeleteOh lots of goodness on your desk this week and good for you with the beads and creating things that others love and will wear. Goodluck with the craft stall when and where it happens. All the good shows are back on and thank the heavens for that.

I'd never heard of bubble wand necklaces but what a great idea - I can see how they're quite simple to make. I haven't touched my jewellery stuff for ages now, daft really as I really enjoy playing with beads but other things have taken precedence recently!
ReplyDeleteGoodness, am I happy now my machine is back. I haven't stopped sewing since, lol. I'm on a mission to clear out more of my stash of fabric so am going to make more things to fundraise. Lots of lavender bags are calling and more tote bags, I think!
Hugs, LLJ 41 xx
Bubble wands. What a fab idea! What a great wedding or party favour - just think of the fun at a summer wedding. Aren't you doing a great jpb of using up what you've got. Very admirable missus..and hey, why wouldn't you - if you can sit at a desk with sunshine on it like that!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet idea, I'm going to suggest this one to my jewellery making friend. What a shame my little girl is all growed up these would have been great for party bags! Happy WOYWW Cindy #58

Hello Sandy, thanks for coming to see my desk yesterday (no. 50 or thereabouts).
ReplyDeleteI love your blog header, perfect! I love your blog come to that, feel like a kindred spririt :) Your bubble wands are lovely, what a great idea for using up lots of beads (I'm guilty of having lots of jewellery stuff too).
I too love Mr Selfridge and Call the Midwives - there are current series of both of them on here in the UK at the moment - both on Sunday evenings.- I think the Midwives may just have ended though.
Have a lovely crafty week :)
It sort of catches on and takes off doesn't it. I made some necklaces and bracelets back in my hippie days from string and beads and when I was making the first it was just a "I'm board lets play with this stuff" moment. Ended up making hundreds of the things. Have fun playing! Have a great week and thanks for visiting my desk earlier! Vickie aka Okienurse #72
