WOYWW 266 - Breakfast and Scrapbooking

Good morning lovely deskers! I'm actually writing this on a Tuesday morning for the weekly What'sOnYourWorkdeskWednesday full-of-messy-desky-fun-linky-party. I just had my first turkey bacon and tomato sandwich with a tomato from the garden. Oh my--there's just nothing like it. Finishing my coffee and a nectarine, I'm scrapbooking again. I just wanted to get a few more pages scrapbooked before I finish my ruffle scarf and contemplate knitting a summer skirt. I saw a crochet skirt on Cindy Crawford at the beach--I'm thinking I could knit one similar, and of course, I'd look just like her!
I did a patchwork scrappy page
I actually happen to know that she is a lovely person--but that would be some magic yarn to make me look like that!!

So, mere minutes later, I finished this scrapbooking layout and thought I'd share it. I'm into speed scrapbooking! Actually, Lindsay at The Frugal Crafter blog shared a video the other day about "Is Scrapbooking Dead?" Now that Two Peas in a Bucket is closing its online doors, as well as a few others, a lot of people responded to Linday's vlog.

I personally have not scrapbooked in ages--so I really don't know what got into me. I'm a little afraid of doing a Project Life kind of thing as it seems too demanding for someone like me who enjoys doing a little of everything depending on my mood. Lately, I feel like I'm in way too many selfies...don't know how that happened! But I've got jewelry and cards to make and an art quilt to start! Plus, there's the craft book I'm writing and I'm going to self-publish it on Amazon. I'll let you know how that goes. Have a fabulous week lovelies.

  2. Love the idea of speed scrapbooking. I had no idea that Two Peas was closing down. Are they going out of business?
Looks like you've got plenty to be going on with anyway. I'm with you on doing a little of everything depending on mood.
    Have a lovely week

  3. Scrapbooking dead because a site is closing. Pish-posh! Scrapbooking has been around in one form or another for MUCH longer than the internet and probably longer than many of us! I do a digi-hybrid sort of scrapbooking and I love it. I also love doing my December Daily and while PL is interesting there isn't enough going on in my life on even a weekly basis for me to scrap about lol. Love your page, will be interested on how the self publishing goes too! Thanks for visiting me!

  4. Ooooo, magic yarn to make us all look like super models. What a concept! But then we'd all be average looking, right? lol

I can't imagine that scrapbooking is dead just cuz Two Peas is closing. I personally haven't scrapbooked in ages either, but that's only because I'm trying to focus on pursuits that can eventually bring in a profit. If I ever become independently wealthy, without the need to make a little spare cash, THEN I'll get caught up on my scrapbooks. :-)

Thanks for stopping by my blog and for the nice comments.

    Happy Woyww,

  6. I love your layout and I don't think Scrapbooking is dead, it just seems to be more people doing Project Life and being vocal about it. I am a scrapbooker and have not done a page in ages but that is because of work and running my own business it takes up most of my time. Project Life I will never get into and don't even want too. I am a card maker and love doing off the page stuff as well. Thanks for visiting me and leaving a comment as for your comment family always comes first, with a close nano second follow up of crafting. LOL

  7. I love scrapbooking in all ways. This year I've been doing Project Life and love the speed of it although keeping up is demanding like you say. Your LO is great. How wonderful to be eating homegrown tomatoes already. Mine are still very green.

  8. Wow, your tomatoes are way ahead of my little green bullets in the greenhouse! However, for lunch today I had a salad with lettuce, herbs, pea shoots and cucumber from the garden! So that was pleasing...and yummy!
So, you're writing a book huh? I'm impressed :-) I should imagine it's going to be bright and breezy, just like you! Well done for actually getting something accomplished rather than just dreaming about it.
Scrapbooking seems to alive and kicking over here - not that I do it, of course - but Julia and friends do at their monthly crop. I guess lots of crafts have their peaks and troughs...cross stitch for example.
Thanks for the visit and your lovely comments, by the way! We had a really relaxing week, it charged all our batteries up. Thought the weeds in my garden were 3 foot taller on our return...sigh :-)

  9. Ooo Lucky you to have tomatoes already. Mine are still very green.
I love your mug. My sister ought to have that one as her nickname is Minnie Mouse.
I was shocked to learn that 2 Peas was shutting shop! I do still like a bit of scrapbooking, as my little book shows...it was supposed to be for scrapbooking.

  10. I don't think scrapbooking is losing popularity, I wish I had more time for it - maybe I should do less in my journals! Have you seen Maja Design blog - they have lovely pages! Thanks for visiting Chris 47

  12. I like art journals but not really into scrapbooks. What a shame that 2 peas are closing down, wonder if they plan to do something else maybe.
Anyway, have a great week and happy crafting, Angela x #41

  13. I am not much into the traditional scrap booking. Have done a few pages but like adding mixed media into it which is why I took the Get Artsy online course. I tried to find the free online stenciling class over at Balzer Designs blog I but couldn't. I would like to take it if you could email me a copy of the web page. Thank you for telling me about it!

  14. Thank you, Sandy, for visiting me and for your lovely comment. It is so hard to lose a loved one and the thought that my post encouraged you, encouraged me. As I wrote in a previous blog post, the faith that my mom passed on to me makes me certain that she lives on. This is my greatest consolation. I believe that we will see each other again.
    God bless you!
    Happy WOYWW!

  16. Yum fresh tomato sandwich! One of my favorite gifts to give is a scrapbook with a 12 x 12 frame so the pages can be in the frame. Have you looked at Club Scrap's Assembly Line Scrapbooking formats? Kudos on writing a book! And thanks for visiting my blog earlier in the week : D. Happy belated WOYWW #63
