WOYWW 312--A stitch here, a tag there

I really think What's-On-Your-Workdesk-Wednesday should be made into a movie. Just take a peek at these wonderful crafty desks every week and you can only imagine the fascinating crafty people and lives that go along with them!

Although I never think my desk is that fascinating. But I have enjoyed moving into my old/new desk and I actually got a little stitching done this week.
I found a UFO (unfinished object) that originally was going to be some kind of patchy wall hanging, and I finished a little applique on it and ended up stitching it into a pillow. I am about finished with my fifth cross-stitch matryoshka doll--still deciding on what these girls are going to be exactly, but hopefully they won't be UFO's laying around! I'm planning a post tomorrow about my little sewing nook...one of my blogs about reorganizing.

I also planted more seeds in my garden--squash, basil, beans, spinach, and flowers--helped darling daughter throw a party of free facials and skin care, shopped, made lovely marinated and sauteed salmon one night, and cleaned out one of the last two messy corners of new desk. I found things I have been looking for, for months! Why did I get so much done? I think it's because Dancing with the Stars, Once Upon a Time, Mr. Selfridge, and Call the Midwife are over! Boo! Especially Call the Midwife...they won't be back until next spring. Love, love, love CTM. At least Chummy was back for the last episode. And, I'll say no more so as not to spoil it for anyone. But...I do love Fred and Vi together!
Back to the desk--I was working a little in my junk journal I made a few months ago...it was put together with some of the pretty pages from my past art journal style planners from Orange Circle Studio. And now, at the end of the year, I can plan to add the keeper pages from this year's. Sometimes I amaze myself. Anyway, this is one of the pages where I glued in a cute envelope pocket--very handy. Also--I've been terrible about my Tag  Tuesday making...trying to get back in the swing.
And by the by, thank you for all the cubby envy last week!! You guys are the best. Happy Wednesday.

  1. Great to see al those things you made! Love the little bag stuck on the page.
I’m still travelling but managed to have internet today so I’m visiting as many of you as I can. Happy anniversary all! Six years is quite a long time.

  2. Are your cross stitch dolls exactly the same size? If they are, perhaps you could cut two out and stitch them back to back, stuff them slightly and attach a loop of ribbon. They'd make awesome Christmas decorations!
You've been a busy girl this week..It's been fairly full on for me too but not quite as mad as yours! The garden is taking up more time as things start to grow..I've been eating salad leaves and radishes for about a week now. They taste so good when you pick them fresh!!
I've been making small items out of scraps but need to concentrate on bigger things as someone's ordered a bag. I'll have to clear the decks as my desk is covered in fabric and I need some space to cut out bigger bits :-)
Hope you are well..how's your eye by the way? Life continues to be up and down over here...it's just one of THOSE years....but I'm keeping smiling!
    Happy 6th WOYWW

    1. It's definitely one of THOSE years! The eye is on the mend, and doctor will check again in August to see if a surgery is needed to finish up the repair. Vision not great out of that one, but the other takes over. Recovering from such an intense laser procedure is trying. Thanks for checking on me dearest!

  3. Love your cross stitched dolly, so cute! You've got a LOT going on on your desk, but it is all orderly. :-)

Thanks for the blog visit earlier. The die cut machine is an older Big Shot, btw.

    Happy creating and happy woyww!

  10. Love the UFO! I have a lot of those! I used to love cross stitiching, but I don't think I can do that anymore because of bad eyes, and arthritus in my hands. It takes a lot for me to even thread a needle to sew on a button, or hem some pants. Love the little journal. Thanks for stopping by to see my space.Happy WOYWW Anniversary! # 57

  11. I hope you are recuperating, because your schedule sounds incredibly busy. Far busier than mine, and I'm not in pain.

Love that desk and those cubbies. You have the most gorgeous area to work in. Those stitched dolls are adorable. That is something I could NEVER do, since I can't grip a needle.

Happy, happy 6th WOYWW anniversary from #1.

  14. Cubby envy. Done. Now I've got lampshade envy! It's gorgeous..again that last shot of your desk is a real window into your natural style. And I'm going to presume that's paint and not hand cream in the upright tube. If ther's one thing I really do preach at my girl, its moisturising...I have almost as many tubes of handcream dotted about the house as I do pairs of readers! The Matroyshka collection is going to be too lovely, however you finish them.

  19. Well it all sounds terribly organised - I had a tidy last night and re-discovered a few things. Trouble is it doesn't last. Now if it stayed tidy that would amaze me! Thanks for the visit, Happy WOYWW Cindy x

  22. Oh wow, you are really coming into swing this week... a lot of stuff and projects. Yes, TV can really be a distraction (but a fun one sometimes!) I don't know the programs you name but overhere I spend time on watching 'Criminal minds' (one 'new' episode followed by 3 re-runs, which I watched already but still like to see once more... takes me all Wednesday-evening!) Luckely 'The Voice of Holland' 'The voice of UK" and "So You Think You Can Dance' are all over - leaving me with time for crafting now! Thanks for your visit to my blog earlier. Happy woyww, happy 6th anniversary and a hug from Holland! Marit #43
