A school was throwing these cubby shelves in the trash--we rescued and painted. |
So I'm having a pot of lemon herb tea--I love these oversized china cups I found at TJ Maxx, and I use them for my tea all the time. I'm going through my Make List--I've consolidated all my list pads and small journals and calendar in one desk drawer together. My whole thing is to stop being a warehouse of lost storage, and use every space actively. That took some throwing out and selling out--but it's totally worth it. Lately I've written about my cross-stitch Stitchbow storage, my new desk, and tomorrow is all about organizing my stamps. I'm not a fabulous stamp collector with hundreds--so this post will be about how someone with a just a few dozen stamps organizes it. Because no matter how many or how few you have, you still need to be able to find the sentiments and images you need, and mine had been a big mess. Then, I'll post next week about my little sewing nook.
And maybe, someday, I'll actually make something!

Oh, I've got Cubby Envy!! I would so love to have a set of shelves with cubby holes like that. Sooooooo jealous - well done you for rescuing them from the school. I love them, especially with all the crafty bits and pieces sitting there so nicely!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny but when you've had the sort of massive clearout like you've just done, I find it takes a while to get back into the crafting rhythm again. So don't worry, just relax about it all - Mr Mojo will soon come bouncing back into your life...you know, a bit like Tigger! Lol.
As you may have seen, the Crop went really well - we had a fab time, the only problem is that the day was too short.....
Hope no more of your plants get squashed :-( I had a similar problem the other day when Harry went to sleep in my greenhouse on top of my beautifully planted cucumber plant. Luckily there were two more, but I've been very careful to keep the greenhouse door firmly shut since then!

I wonder why it sounds familiar what you are saying about organizing .. thihi... I have same problem today and I am really looking forward to get my new desk, but when it is done I am not sure. I love what you have done !!!!... and envy your school desk :) Thank you ever so much for sharing.

How could your desk ever be disappointing. It's gorgeous. I'm with Jan on the cubby envy bit. Love them and especially the colour and all the little bits and pieces you've got in them. Your flowers are very pretty on your desk too.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it lovely to be back in the garden and planting out. Joseph made me laugh, it must be a cat thing, my cat has been squashing my peas. Only one has managed to sprout round him so far. I hope your squashes survive.

They are right the shelving is gorgeous. Can't blame you for spending time in the garden. It's obvious that Joseph is jealous of the plants, you are spending too much time with them when you should be cuddling him!
ReplyDeleteHave a great woyww and thanks for the visit, Angela x 21
Those cubby shelves are soooo gorgeous - what a brilliant bit of recycling! x Jo
ReplyDeleteLove your wonderfully neat desk, it looks great! And I love your kitty garden "helper." :-)

Happy creating and happy woyww,

Ooh, I totally love your green cubby holes - they are gorgeous and like Jan I have Cubby Envy! What a great craft space you have and you've made it so homely and inviting. Joseph is such a handsome boy isn't he - and if you can't squash a squash what can you squash?!! Thank you so much for stopping by my desk, and I hope you have a great week,

I think it happens to many of us when we reorganize, Our mojo gets reorganized too and it takes a while to get it figure out. It will come! The cubbies look wonderful! I like the forsythia branches. Diane #27
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a beautiful crafty space, love little nooks for storage.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit earlier. I, too, know the 'shocked' feeling when the atelier is clean and looks anew.. it takes courage to start creating then isn't it?! I LOVE those cuby-shelves.. glad you could rescue those from the trash, they're awesome! Happy woyww and a hug from Holland, Marit #35
ReplyDeleteOh gawd, now I've got shelf envy too - that vignette of your area is just beautiful! Will be fascinated by your stamp storage, doesn't matter if youve got 10 or hundreds...you may have hit upon THE solution!
