WOYWW 292--Happy Crafter Lazy Blogger

Moments ago I snapped this mess. It's What's-On-Your-Workdesk-Wednesday and when I visit other workdesks, I get to be inspired, laugh, and share. Afterall, it's only sixteen degrees here this morning and all I seem to be fit for is drinking coffee and cross-stitching!
cross-stitching a Russian doll!
I did manage to pick up a package of 100 little bags for two bucks at Wal-Mart to package my earrings for my booth at an antique mall. That's progress. I'm also making ahead several tags for Tag Tuesday. Also progress! Who knows, maybe I'll manage to post something this week! I have started my own little thing. I call it Stash Dash 2015. To me, that means making things from my own stash as much as possible all year long. Will I be able to resist the sales and coupons at Michaels, Hobby Lobby, and JoAnn's? Well, not completely. But, I am going to focus more on using what I have and upcycling and see where we land. So watch for my first Stash Dash post coming soon! I think having a bad cold for the last week has contributed to the laziness. But, I'm getting over it (the cold, not sure about the laziness), and can I just say I couldn't be happier with the first episode of Downton Abbey Season Five!!! So there's a bright spot in this cold, cold January. Happy Wednesday!

  1. Stash dash is a great term for what essentially I have to think about as well. I am going to sort out all my fabrics in the craft room and make Project piles of fabrics that aren't bit enough to make a complete bag, but which I can use to patchwork together. But I have to buy some more fabric...honest! My hubby gave me a voucher to spend with an online fabric shop...so I've just GOT to do that, can't hurt his feelings now, can I?! ;-)
I haven't felt like doing much either, to be honest...I had a recurrence of the Labyrinthitis I get occasionally, which gives me terrible vertigo. It's a bit like being drunk, except I hardly ever touch alcohol! So I've just been pottering about...maybe making a list to prioritise things will help (but don't tell Julia, lol!)
Glad that Downton is helping you :-)

  2. I love your little Russian doll - what a cute little face she has. I love the term stash dash - it is definitely something I need to do as I'm having to move some of my crafting stuff into the loft as I don't have any more shelf/cupboard space in my studio! Glad that Downton is cheering you up - I love it, and I'm looking forward to the Autumn when we get the new series 6 over here - I am wishing my year away already! Have a great week,

  3. I love your term Stash dash, Sandy. I'm starting out the new year along those lines too. No more buying until I've at least used some of the lovely stuff I have....it's so hard to resist though like you say.
Hope your cold is getting better and enjoy Downton. We've just had the Christmas special, best two hours of the whole series, it was brilliant.

  4. I love all the bright happy colors on your desk. Your idea of Stash Dash is excellent, I've done it before. It's amazing how much potential there is right in our crafty spaces!

Happy Woyww and Happy New Year,

  6. Great idea and I think I will join you. I am sure we all have an abundance of stash that needs to be used.

  7. I did my own 'stash dash' last year, and I STILL have way too much stash. Might just join in yours too if you don't mind the company.
    Happy WOYWW!

  8. HUGE Downton fan here too! We stream it online the day after it shows in the UK, so I've seen the entire season. It's sooo amazing this year - best yet!! I wish you good luck on using your stash; I need to do that as well! I do so miss shopping in the States though. Much better to shop in person, than to have to order everything online!!!

    Happy Crafting!

  9. Great idea! I like the term you coined: stash dash. I think many of us are wanting/trying to do the same thing. I live in a country where I can't get stuff and postage is very expensive so I can't buy much anyway and I am forced to 'stash dash' all the time....
I remember seeing the first series of Downton Abbey when we lived in the UK. And i loved it. I really ought to order some DVDs but haven't got round to it.
I know it's late in the week but have a good one,
