Well happy What's-On-Your-Workdesk-Wednesday to you! Thank you for visiting me. I feel so blessed to have gotten the loveliest visits last week with happy birthday wishes and sweet thoughts. Thank you so much! It made my week and made turning (uh-hum) "54" a lot more like turning forty fourteen!
I am posting a quick one today - I've been cutting out sentiments from some old books bought at a library sale, for that very reason. I'm gluing the snippets to card stock to keep track of them, and then I will Mod Podge them. They will be ready to cut out and use in all kinds of projects!
I found an old large martini glass, and it went right on my craft table to hold some skeins of floss I'm working with. I thought that was festive--but it might be a little more festive with say, a mangotini in it!
I'm also still cross-stitching reindeers and watching Gilmore Girls! Netflix makes it so easy to watch a whole series you've never seen before. It was fun to hear that some of my UK crafty pals watch it over there too. Have a wonderful week!

Happy WOYWW. What a good idea to cut out bits from the books for future use. I was subscribed to Netflix, but was trying to reduce expenditure and cancelled it. I do miss watching Derek, which I was slowly working through. However, I am determined to clear my credit card quicker and it will be worth it when I have a zero balance! Ali x #42
ReplyDeleteWell, that's a festive desk. I shall join you in raising a glass with some Christmas cheer in :-). Great idea to cut out and keep those sentiments, I wouldn't have thought of that but I bet you'll use them loads!
ReplyDeleteI'm sitting in front of my log burner, checking out the desks. There's all sorts of chores to do but I don't feel like doing any of them!! There's some sewing to finish as well, so I'll have to evict the cat off my lap and shift my butt!
Hugs, LLJ 18 xx
Hi Sandy,
ReplyDeletethat book looks really cool for using it to cut out things I would also use the pics for collages. And you are right, the martini glass would be more festive with some whatevertinis in it, lol!!
Thank you for visiting and your sweet comment!

What a great sentiment idea - thanks for sharing. Your desk looks very inviting, and you're obviously having a ball there! Enjoy, and have a good week. Chris # 8
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you've got some great ideas going on there - I love the martini glass with the threads in it, I love finding unusual jars and bottles for my studio, but I've never thought of one of those - next time I see one in an antique shop I'll snap it up!! Thanks so much for visiting earlier, hope you have a great week,

You look very organised there, Sandy. What a great idea to store your sentiments like that, the book you are cutting up looks like it has some lovely illustrations too.
ReplyDeleteLove your Martini glass storage.
Have a good week

Gosh that looks like a book with lovely water colour illustrations! Good idea though.
ReplyDeleteI smiled at the martini glass. If I ever found such an iconic martini glass I would put a drink in it not craft supplies. Furthermore, I am such a clumsy person that I would knock it over in no time! Lol!
Thanks for visiting me earlier and for your kind comments.
Have a great week! And God bless you.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous book and a great idea to put the sentiments in one place so you can find them when you need them, very organised.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great crafty week, Angela x 28

ReplyDeleteHugs & thanks for visiting me - Neet xx

Oh now you need to fill that glass up with some Champagne and celebrate your birthday some more while you're cross-stitching...............well okay maybe leave the stitching till later. I'm playing catch up with visiting this week. Thank you for popping by Anita #35
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree that the glass would be far more festive with something alcoholic in it. :-) Love all the bits & pieces on your desk.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit to my blog and for the nice comments. Sorry I'm late visiting this week.
Happy belated Woyww,

Hi Sandy
ReplyDeletedon't know about you but I used to find it really difficult to cut pieces out of a book..... magazines ... fine no problem..... but books .....Agh...... I'm cured now though, Elizabeth... the altered book lover cured me of it. I hate printing out words maybe I should try your way then I would have a whole bunch ready when I need them.

Fantastic idea with the sentiments, I've just become the proud owner of my first tub of mod podge so the inspiration is very welcome.
