Well...I'm getting ready to make a few things here...but isn't that what's so great about What's-On-Your-Workdesk-Wednesdays? I haven't actually made anything...when I took the pics, I was getting ready to put some eyelets in some tags to decorate the cover of this plain-jane mixed-media book, AND, embroider my new jeans while watching the premiere episode of season six of Mad Men (which, by the by, was a huge disappointment, and I wished I had watched Call the Midwife and Mr. Selfridge instead of DVRing them!). *Sigh*
But, back to my point--you never know by the time Wednesday arrives if you will have accomplished something or we get to see the wonderful seeds of your future creative works! So..what's that odd green thing on my desk? Why--it's a celery heart, drying out a bit, and tonight will become a stamp for my journal! It's fun to stamp with such odd things, and we'll see how it turns out. So...back to embroidering my new jeans. I can't wait to wear them! And, also, thank you so much for your kind comments last week about my WOYWW top ten. That was from the heart, and very fun to write. Hugs dears!

Wow, you have a varied crafty life for sure!! Have a good day. Helen, 8
ReplyDeleteHi Sandy, I know what you mean - Wednesday tends to be that inbetweenie day that is often the finish of one project or the rumblings of the start of another, or even worse - the realisation that you have achieved NOTHING since last week :0) Have a great week, enjoy your celery stamping! ReplyDeleteStamping with fruit and veg is great fun my favourites have to be peppers and lemons but I haven't tried celery yet, must give that a try sometime.

We used to use all sorts of fruit and veg to print with in school with the children - they loved it and the results are fab. Hope we see those jeans when they are finished too!! x Jo
ReplyDeleteWow there's alot going on here! Pretty tags and way to go with the vegetable prints - you may have given me an idea for a craft session at work... Happy WOYWW Cindy #63
ReplyDeleteGreat idea with the veg! Bet it would look good inked up with acrylic paint. Happy WOYWW. Pam #23
ReplyDeleteYou didn't like Mad Men?? I love that show! And yes, sometimes we have something to share...and sometimes we're just at the beginning stages. But it's all fun to see!!!!

Do you know, Sandy, you can never tell what's going to pop up on your desk next!! Celery stamping?? What prompted you to do that?! It's going to be interesting, that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteI love that you're embellishing your jeans! We have a tv programme running at the moment called The Great British Sewing Bee where eight amateur sewists take on different projects, including improving garments with embellishments. My favourite, a great hairy, bearded bloke got knocke out tonight...boooo. One of the contestants is an 81 year old lady who can sew anything...it's really entertaining :)
