WOYWW 313--DIY Weekly Planner

A dark morning photo for What's-On-Your-Workdesk-Wednesday.

I have scrapbook papers spread out everywhere. It all started when I noticed some of the beautiful customized planners that are out there--usually costing around 70 to 80 bucks! I wanted something very customized that would actually stay around my desk at home--not one for the bag. I like the academic year style, and then decided I actually want an 18-month planner to start this June.

Then I thought, make it yourself miss scrappy stash!
I actually typed some of the weekly pages on my ole typewriter!
So, I've been working on it, and I'm having so much fun. It includes things like plenty of list making which I love, weekly layouts, a go-to recipe section, folders for clippings and receipts, and lots of organizing of ME. It's already almost done, and with all the pretty papers, stamps, stickers, and punches I've used, I think it's gorgeous.
I created some of the weeks in Word and inserted images from online.
I hope to have a little photo shoot soon to be able to go into more detail about my new customized life planner. You know, I thought I was going to talk about a new embroidery I'm doing on some shorts--but once I started on this planner, I got obsessed!

I'm going to visit your desk and find out your obsession this week! Happy Wednesday.

  1. Hi Sandy, what an ace idea! I often wonder how much we buy, we could actually make for ourselves. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #9 xxx

  5. Miss Scrappy Stash!! Lol. That's a great name, I think you should stick with it :-)
What a fab idea, making one of those planners yourself....bust some stash and save some cash. Hey that's a great slogan! Every time you write something in there, it'll bring back the joy of making it!
I loved the story of Lauren and the song :-). For us, it was You Are My Sunshine...even now, it can take me back. I'm volunteering in a charity bookshop in my local town and we get loads of gorgeous children's books in there and some real old favourites come through. I'm so tempted to buy them for future grandchildren, but that's just silly, so I restrain myself but it's hard! And cookery books too...gorgeous ones that cost a fortune are so cheap. But I'm downsizing my possessions not adding to them so I'm being good!

  6. How brilliant to make a customised planner that really suits you, rather than having one the same as everyone else. I love it. You are such a clever crafter. Hope your day got brighter.

  7. I think I'd be called Miss Spread It Around as I seem to spread my stuff into every nook and cranny of our house.
Don't get me started on list making Sandy !!!
    Have a creative week.

  11. I'm super impressed, because I've seen some of those planners, and you are right. The cost is through the roof. It's really good that you made your own. You know your needs better than any planner would, and customizing it is the true way to go.

Thanks for your comment about WOYWWendy. She is over the roof with happiness that you noticed her. Happy WOYWW from # 5.
