What's-On-Your-Workdesk-Wednesday.
Second, I saw this Craftseller magazine with the Russian dolls (I have a thing about Russian dolls...I'm pretty sure I've blogged about them several times) on Jo's desk (aka Twiglet) and I was taken with it, knowing I can't get that magazine here. Jo, even though she's busy with a beautiful new grandbaby to look at, kindly sent me this happy mail. I'm over the moon--love it, the Russian doll pattern in it, and how it's full of tips for selling your crafty stuff! Thank you Jo!!! And that is part of the miracle of WOYWW. One day it's a magazine on a crafty table just over the Welsh border, and a short time later, it's on a crafty table in the USA Ozarks.
Another new toy--I'm going to make gift boxes! |
And, The Paradise is back on PBS Masterpiece Classics. That should hold me over until...you know what I'm going to say...Downton Abbey!!!

Glad the little magazine arrived safely - I love happy mail! Hfun with your little loom - I used to weave at college but, like you, I found all the threading up a real chore. Hand woven stuff is fun and you can introduce all sorts of funky threads and yarns. x Jo
ReplyDeleteWe all love happy mail Sandy, especially when it comes from a kind friend. So you have a loom on your desk, Ohh Snap has a big spinning wheel and I've got more socks!! I think we're taking over, lol!!

I love the networking we do here on WOYWW. Julia has given us all so much. Ozarks? You and I really need to meet up. Fun time in SDC. I'd love to get down there for their fall/ cowboy festival but too many other things going on right now. Will check out the loom. Have fabric I want to put to use in throw rugs. Creative Blessings! ReplyDeleteThat Jo, she's a cracker...always so generous in sending stuff, sharing patterns and tutorials. I love it that crafters generally are such lovely, sharing sort of people!
ReplyDeleteWeaving, eh? Now there's something that has never called to me but I'm sure your loom is different! Are you finding it easy to do? I think you win the prize for most projects on the go at the same time. What are you going to next, lol?!
I'm trying to get myself organised so that I can make some Christmas presents out of my fabric and yarn stash. Is there enough time though? Aargh, the dates are running away with me...sigh. I should have got organised earlier.....easy to be wise after the event,eh?!
Hugs, LLJ 30 xx
How spooky is it that you have that punch board on your desk, I have just spent the last hour watching some videos using it and have decided that I NEED/WANT it LOL!!!! So sweet of Jo to send that to you.

Woyww is great, isn't it? Really an amazing thing if you think about it. My daughter and I spent a lot of time looking at the triangle loom last month when we were at SDC--she wants to make her own!
ReplyDeleteHappy woyww to you, Sandy Leigh!

WOYWW is so enabling : D. What a great treat to get the magazine. I had a table loom but sold it when I saw what warping would be like. That's a nope nope nope for me lol. I've been a spinster since 1978.
ReplyDeleteMostly I use my spindles, but I also have a Haldane Castle wheel, a Lendrum, an Ashford Traditiona, a charka, and next week a Great Wheel :D. I've wanted a Great Wheel since 1974. Mostly I spin embroidery thread, but I like to break out and try new things. I have some steel wool (I'm thinking it's an outside thing with gloves and a respirator) which I want to ply with some cotton and then knit it up and let it rust a bit.
Your loom looks like fun and looks like it would be a great purse project (I'm always on the look for purse projects). Looking forward to seeing what you make with your gift box punch board too! Thanks for visiting me earlier today! #55
What a cute little loom! which makes a cute little patch. I'm looking forward to seeing what you create with those.
ReplyDeleteNow that was sooo kind of Twiglet to send you that magazine! What a treat!
Do you have Downton Abbey in USA? I love it! I watched the first two series when I lived in the UK but haven't seen it since. I keep saying I'm going to buy a DVD but up till now I haven't. If I drop plenty of hints to family in England I might get one for Christmas.
Have a good week.
Thank you for letting me look over your shoulder.
