WOYWW 231--A desk full of good intentions

Yes, today is What's-On-Your-Workdesk Wednesday. Yes, I have a workdesk. No, I'm not working. Why? Well, it started off all well and full of good intentions last Saturday when I lined up my projects for the week: a tag for Tuesday, sewing a skirt for a wedding I'm going to, a button project, an embroidery project, and my ongoing Scrapbook Dollhouse project.

You see I have a dress form scrolled into the typewriter there, which will be part of a tag, but didn't make it for Tuesday. I'm also doing a dress form to hang in the dollhouse. But, it's still exactly like that five days later.

My crafty life got put on hold this week as I've been taking care of family, busy at the office, closing down the garden, working on birthday and wedding presents, and doing a lot of housework. My birthday is this Sunday, Nov. 10. And, for my birthday, I have a Sizzix new Big Shot on the way from Amazon. Woo hoo! So I'm desperately trying to get to Michaels (they sent me special birthday coupons) and buy some diecut packages at great prices!

I've been waiting to get that Big Shot for months. And that's not all. You see I also got a new Tablet device, and turning the ripe old age of 53--I think I'm doing pretty good figuring out all its wonderful features. It will soon be propped on my desk just like Ms. Julia does with hers! Happy Wednesday lovelies!

Eat, Write, Dream, Stitch, Embrace Your Age!

  6. I hope you have the happiest of birthdays, dear Sandy! I wish I could magically pop over to give you a hug and bring you cake :-)
You have been so busy recently with everything, I hope you manage to cram some crafting time into your busy schedule.
Some news for June: the leaves are changing fast in the huge Savernake Forest that I live next to. It has been a Royal Forest since Norman times and is still a very large area of woods. The weather in the UK summer has been amazing so this has been a Mast Year....every bush and tree has been sprouting fruits and nuts like you wouldn't believe. On one walk, it sounded like we were walking on gravel because there were so many acorns under the oak trees. We try to imagine what it must have been like when knights on horseback rode through hunting the wild boar and deer!
I shall be marching down the ancient High St of Marlborough on your birthday, playing with my band for Remembrance Day, when we remember those who have fallen in Wartime. I always get a tingle when we play our National Anthem in the Church afterwards.
    Hugs and best wishes,
    LLJ 58 xx
