WOYWW 222--It May Be What's Not On My Desk

Right in the middle of tag making yesterday I snapped a pick of this mess.

Happy What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday! Click here to see messes, distresses, happy places, and loads of creativity all over our planet! Some crafters work in a studio, some on a dining table, and some in the floor, but wherever you are happy, that's where you should create.

I fussy cut the birdie from a plain paper sack

My new word stickers - love!
That's why some of my best work is not in the photo! I have a pretty embroidery on felt that I'm designing as I go--but it's laying on my big lapdesk. Then on my sewing table I'm working on a pillow for a newly covered chair to match, and once that's sewn, I'm changing back to my colorful embroidery threads to work on that pair of denim shorts laying on my table. They are becoming a bag! I plan to completely cover them with fun colorful stitches, embroidery and some applique. I'm making the straps from drapery fabric selvage edges. So some old shorts will become wearable art--I'll let you know how it turns out.

I had the Sizzix Texture Boutique out working away on my tag (that thing sitting there that looks like a purse) and whenever I have the embossing folders out, I like to go ahead and emboss a variety of paper scraps so that they are ready to go on other projects. I can't wait to get going on Christmas cards! So I'm going to visit some of you and see who's already doing that.

Please say a prayer for my poor hubby--he is in rehearsals for Spamalot, opening this week at our Little Theatre, and he has been coughing non-stop...he hardly got any sleep last night, had to work all day, and then go right to dress rehearsal. I just hope he makes it through a very busy, tough week. He's a talented actor and always wanted to do this show.

Hugs and happy Wednesday!

Thought I would give you a peek at my front yard flower box!

  9. Make your hubby gargle with salt water, it's disgusting but a very good natural antiseptic. Then. Just to show things can get better, hot water with honey and lemon juice to replenish those good vitamins! Good luck to him...break a leg for the performance :-)
Look at your flowers, they're so pretty!! That photo made me smile!

  10. That is JUST how the WOYWW shot should be taken..mid flow,no tidying no staging - LOVE IT!! Was going to give sore throat and cough advice but Jan's got it - even a spoonful of harmless glycerine to coat the throat temporaily isn't a bad idea. These actor types are hard to look after. Wishing him a 'break a leg'- it willbe such fun!
Meanwhile, am loving your plans for the shorts..I have those word stickers too and guess what - rarely use them! Show me the error of my ways will ya!

  13. I love your little birdie! Can't wait to see the denim shorts bag too, as your makes are always so pretty and individual! I will say a special prayer for your hubby, as I used to teach Drama and invariably my most talented students would come down with some horrible throat infection the night before a big show! If I tell him to 'break a leg' he'll know what I mean, won't he!? Julie Ann x #34
