All I Need Is Coffee and Cross-Stitch...WOYWW 381

Happy Wednesday Lovely!

Visit a bunch of random Wednesday desks from crafters all over the world right here at What's-On-Your-Workdesk-Wednesday. Madam Julia just keeps this party going week after week...even if she's having brain surgery, literally, and we just let her because 1-We're nosy about desks 2-We have friends across the planet we would have never known existed if it weren't for Julia so...3-The global crafting community becomes like living in a little crafty village when you come to this blog party. It just makes your week brighter. Somebody needs to make a movie about us! I'll write the screenplay Julia!
I loved stitching the second floor sunroom--so cute
Anyhoo...my desk is coffee and cross-stitch. See...I knew it...this is why I don't do big cross-stitch projects anymore because they take over my life at some point and then I'm not doing other things I wanted to get to. I've barely finished the August room in the dollhouse, and now I'm finally on the first floor! BUT...and that's a big but (not mine)...I need to get into production mode for the Christmas craft sale things I want to make. I'm like a craft hamster on a wheel.  Oooh...that reminds me of when darling daughter was little and we had hamsters and were told we were buying two females and one day I opened the top of their cage and there were 12 hamster babies that looked like little aliens! Pardon my reminiscing. Good times at our house.
Swing over to the left and here's my busy box which holds things that would normally scatter everywhere, and on top is the cross-stitch and my DMC floss. I had just unhooped it after finishing the third and second floors.
See that cute little zipper bag? I need to stitch about a dozen more of those!

And I have to share the cutest wooden stamps I got in the Target dollar spot. A set of four stamps for a buck...I love them!

One of these Wednesdays I'm going to do one of my "complete desk tours" and make it to every desk in the WOYWW village! Will it be this week? We'll see.

Have a beautiful day.

Eat, Write, Dream, Stitch

A look at the whole second and third floor done! Wrinkled and stained from dragging it with me everywhere.

  3. Your stitching is coming along wonderfully. I love your Target find. I admit to not going in there much anymore - they stopped carrying/making the food/drinks I used to buy there. Funny hamster story!

    Have a great week

  4. Love how you refer to us all as a little craft village - what a lovely sentiment.
As for the cross stitch - well what can I say? It is fabulous! Keep going it will be worth it. Christmas can wait a week or two.
As for the hamster story, I once bought a male hamster. Assured it was I wondered why it growled at us. Yes, hamsters can growl. We had visitors one day and the guy lifted the roof of the little house (nesting box) up and told me there were babies inside. I didn't believe him but there were. Four little bald things like cocktail sausages with legs waiving about. My male had been pregnant!

  5. great looking desk today! Love all the color. I used to do a lot of counted cross stitch but my arthritis got to bothering me so much I had to give up the big projects. Turned to paper arts! I saw some stamps at Target yesterday but not this set. I will have to go to the one across town and see what they have. This one I would buy! Thanks for visiting my desk earlier. Vickie #4

  9. Oh, the big shot of the cross stitch is wonderful...you can really see it coming together! You're right, doing it in bite sized pieces makes it seem much more achievable. Good luck with the craft sale stuff, it's always tricky to know exactly what/how many of items should be made...I don't think I ever got it right!!
Your film idea of WOYWW is genius, I could be the Vision Mixer....resurrect those old skills 😊
Hope you're keeping well and happy 😊💖

  10. A lovely write-up for WOYWW at the beginning of your post, Sandy! Witty and heartfelt! I'm gonna make one of those zipper bags one of these days (I keep saying that!) What on earth did you do with 12 hamsters, LOL? Loving those stamps - can't believe they were just a dollar! What a find! Thanks for visiting earlier! Have a great week! zsuzsa #24

  11. Your hamster reference made me laugh! We used to catch Horned Lizards as children and that was an experience! But I digress... cool cross stitch! I haven't done that in years! Thanks for the visit and I hope your week is great!

  16. Your cross stitch is looking great! I went through an obsessive phase with cross stitch many years ago and only just picked one up a few weeks ago (on last week's post I think). I'm really enjoying it after such a long, long break :)
Great bargain buy with your stamp set!

  18. Oh, your cross stitch dollhouse is so cute. It's been so long since I cross stitched, you make me want to try again! I do have one of those little kits stashed away somewhere, but it feels like i haven't picked up the craft since I was a kid. I hope it's like riding a horse! And those stamps. . .you're not the first person I've seen share them, but your post about them feels like a sign that I need to go to Target. ;) Ha!

  20. That's one of the loveliest cross stitch designs, so nice to see it in panoramic form! love the fabric of the zip bag, bet you'll make loads of those for the Christmas sale. I don't envy you the makings for that, I must say. Loved you reminiscence....we had hamsters, I miss them!

  21. I have a cross stitch project somewhere I started probably about 15 years ago or so, when I was pregnant 8 years ago I thought I would finish it for in my son's bedroom, is still in the box alas. Those stamps are indeed fab and that for 1 dollar, great find. I thought you meant a complete tour of your crafting area with your grand tour lol very very late, WOYWW Vicky
