WOYWW 347--Lazy Crafter Days

I recently framed a couple of Chanel printouts for desktop inspiration.
Happy Wednesday lovely!

Courtesy of Miss Julia--and really, it's more than a courtesy. She never misses a Wednesday to let us share our crafty spaces.

Anyhoo...
I've continued in my January lazy crafter mode. Only stopping the lazy train to Downton now and then to organize my desktop folders, some drawers and cabinets in the kitchen, and of course cross-stitching on the 2015 cross-stitch house from the El DMC blog. I've almost got room #1 done. But at this rate, I don't think I'm going to finish it in time to enter at the fair this summer. *sigh* We'll see.
Got the cutest file folders from the Target dollar spot for the desktop folders I reach for quite a bit.
Three faves: washi tape, post-it tape, and cute masking tape.
I had to share this--post-it tape! It's the pink, on the right there. I love this stuff.
And there's my faithful Stitchydori on the pullout--I can't do a day without dori. Inside is my weekly planner, list book of every list I possibly need at all times, business book, dashboard and folders, traveling supply of washi and stickers, and my food/exercise journal. Yesterday I posted about making another Midori for a gift if you'd like to scroll down and check it out.

Now, about Downton Abbey. (possible last season episode spoiler coming up here) I think I'm a few episodes into the last season, and I'm already worried about Robert clutching his side after every fancy dinner--please don't tell me this is a foreshadowing!! But just for the record, it is noted that something is up here. Oh, and I LOVED the visit from Gwen, and how Barrow tried to call her out, and it didn't really work in his favor. Oh Barrow...will you ever learn. And from one stitcher to another--can I just say I adored that embroidered coat Mrs. Hughes wore for the wedding day. I am actually trying to figure out how to embroider my own coat! First stop, a long vintage beige spring coat I have is promptly going into my embroidery machine! Although I think I'll have to temporarily remove the lining to get this task done properly. I do plan to share the adventure though.

Have a happy week of crafting, stitching, stamping, scrapping, or just being lazy in January.

  1. Some cool stuff on your desk, Sandy! Your Dori is so gloriously fat! See, it didn't take that long for Downton to arrive across the pond. Now I'm being jealous because you have the pleasure of looking forward to each episode. I'm itching to tell you some spoilers but I'm not gonna! Suffice to say that something rather shocking is going to happen at one point. The kind of shocking when your hand flies to your mouth and you can't believe what you're seeing. It happens when you least expect it too! The end of the season leaves a few threads loose, which will be neatly tied up in the extra-long Special that aired on Christmas Day over here. I so miss Downton! I hope there will be something else to replace it! Happy WOYWW! zsuzsa #38

  2. Pretty folders! The Target dollar spot is a dangerous place -- ha, ha. I think we all experience an ebb and flow in our crafty productivity. I think it's a useful thing actually, rather than trying to force yourself when you're not in the mood. I haven't watched any of of Downton Abbey yet, but we just signed up for Amazon Prime and I think DA is part of their streaming video, so I'll watch at some point. Happy WOYWW from Laura #45

  3. Love all your pretty photos, Sandy and is that sunshine I spy!! I had to smile ay your Downton musing. I won't spoil it, but you'll love the Xmas special episode when things are neatly tied up and you'll see Barrow in a different light. It's funny watching it back again how horrible he was in the early seasons. You forget. I love how he is with the children in the last series. Enjoy!!

  4. I'm glad someone else is still tidying up and it's not just me.

  5. Wait till you see the Christmas Special of Downton! In some ways I am glad it is finished for us in the UK as Lady Mary really used to annoy me, I know everyone liked her but she didn't do it for me.
    Love the cross stitching.

  7. Lovely folders - I do envy you Target, I wish we had one over here! When I visit family in PA I come back laden with stuff from Target and Michaels! I love your Dori, and it's great it getting so much use as well as looking so good. Enjoy the rest of Downton, it's been such a lovely series hasn't it. I wish we had more to see!

  8. I'm new to the world of 'Planning' with a capital 'P' and now have the one binder to bind them all. I'm loving it - having everything in one place, at last. I will definitely be checking out the tutorial, though I have no idea if my stitching will measure up!

  9. You are getting sorted and I love that pink tape - what a gorgeous colour. Your journal does look so full it made me smile and what a fantastic cover. So glad you're enjoying Downton. I'm so sorry it's finished for us. All I'll say is they tie up all the ends and don't leave you hanging in the end.

If you get Call The Midwife at any time do watch that. A wonderful series but does make me cry often!

Thanks for visiting mine earlier. Barbxx #54

  10. Lovely creative space you've got, Sandy, and I love the idea of post-it tape. I don't think I've ever seen that, and can think of lots of uses for it! I wonder if we can get it this side of the pond.

Ah, Downton! First time round I couldn't seem to get into it and gave it up as a bad job. It came on again recently so I thought I'd give it another try and now my hubby and I are hooked! So I'm like you, watching it all the way through for the first time, and not knowing what's happening next! I'm avoiding ALL spoilers like the plague.

Thank you for your lovely comment - it is soooo good to have my mojo back! So glad you like the teabags.

    Happy WOYWW,

  11. It still makes me smile to think of you being so hooked on Downton! And I think you need to embroider your coat for definite, it sounds a great idea. I'm being a lazy crafter too, just haven't got any hwyl (pronounced hoil)....it's Welsh for oomph or keenness. I've done the bare minimum. And I haven't lifted a single seed packet....too cold and wet. The days seem to be whizzing by though, I'm busy in other ways :-)

  12. Oh yes! another Downton lover. I have just bought the box set so I can watch it all again but there are about 42 hours! Thanks for the visit to mine and have a great woyww, Angela x 29

  13. I'm going to buy the box set (like Angela) as I love Downton Abbey and we can no longer get UK tv here in Spain.
Your new folder looks lovely and I have been admiring your stitchydori for a while.
Pink post-it tape? I have never heard of it...
Thank you for taking the trouble to visit and for your sweet comment.
    Greetings from sunny Spain,

  14. Great desk! I admit to not watching Downton for a little while (ducking my head). Tape is lovely.

  15. Thanks for calling by at mine yesterday. I'm still playing catch up with my visits.
I've got to be one of the few who's never watched Downton. So much to do and too little time I guess. :-)

  17. Ohh, Sandy. Please do share the embroidered coat adventure. That sounds beautiful. I miss entering country fairs. The ones here in southern MO are nothing like the ones I entered every year in central IL. Entering fairs was my summer 'job' to earn money so I could attend my favorite writing conference in the fall.

I would be lost without my planner as well. Between my blog planner, daily planner and 43 folder binder I can keep everything straight and still have time to craft ;-)

  18. Ohh, that tape is so cute! I have quite a few in my stash but it's never enough... love the pink one! Thanks for stopping by my blog last week - I'm a bit late myself but happy woyww, have a nice weekend! Hug, Marit #28

  19. It's so easy for me to lose hours organising bits and bobs so I don't think your having a lazy January it all counts as crafting in my book. x
