WOYWW 204--My New Baby

Happy WOYWW lovelies! And boy am I excited and obsessed!

Isn't she a  beauty? She (my new Brother SE400 computerized sewing and embroidery machine) arrived on my doorstep this past weekend. I've never been so thrilled to go out and buy embroidery thread and stabilizer in my life! Sew...this is what I've been doing. I'm learning everything I can about my new baby--I've named her Violet.

I created my own little starter kit with some pretty, shiny machine embroidery threads, a roll of Sulky stabilizer, a dedicated organizer for all the extra tools and parts that come with this machine, and the instruction tools ready to teach myself! Where's everything else I've been working on? Waiting. Waiting until I know everything I possibly can about my new sewing machine. And it's everything I wanted and more! I've embroidered a few things now, and it's funny, because that's the first function of the machine I taught myself. So now I'll go backwards and learn all the basic sewing functions, and applique. It has more stitches alone than I've ever had on a sewing machine. Yay! I think I have quilting foot too!
My first embroidery--a kitchen towel!

The weather has been lovely here for the past week, still not very warm, but blue skies and sunshine...that's better. I managed to get some of my plants potted up, so I feel better now :)

  13. Wow! That is an awesome piece of kit! I'm rubbish at sewing, need the instruction manual to thread my (very basic) sewing machine, so always impressed with those that can! It looks like you'll be able to do some amazing things with Violet! Thanks for sharing and Happy Woyww Liz@57
