Heart a Day 2013 - Week 9 - Working on Row 3!

I had a busy week being the crazy crafting lady! But, it was a lot of fun, and inbetween the madness and mess, I still stitched a heart or two. I have no doubt this tapestry will be filled sometime before the end of 2013. It is fun thinking of text for it, so it's all original. Although the pattern is super simple...the magic will be seeing a whole big tapestry of hearts someday.

Weather: We Like It or Not!

Hello lovelies, and happy Saturday! That's me in my backyard, doing that childhood chant and taking pictures a few days ago of a fresh snowfall. Now mind you, I live right in the middle of the city, but there is something about a blanket of snow that makes it seem like I live in a ski lodge or something! It's fabulous, and I love taking pictures, getting cold, and going inside for some hot chocolate. So I thought I'd share a few of the snapshots of just around my house as I get ready to put a stew in the crockpot. Here is the recipe, by the way, just click on the link below. It's easy, and it's a meal when you pair it with some crusty bread and wonderful cheese. Enjoy! And if you want to knit a ski band like the one I'm wearing here which I made last year, just grab a chunky yarn, cast on 10 rows, knit until it's the length you want, cast off, and stitch it together with the same yarn. Easy peezy!

Art Journal Friday--Don't Be Sad--Art Is Medicine

One of my best cures for a general sadness...lack of motivation...mini-depression...is pure inspiration. So, no sad movies or books, not allowed to be tired...I find some inspiration. 

The other day it was a marathon of one of my favorite paper craft shows on PBS. I had recorded several, and let them play into an afternoon marathon--and I got so excited! 

I art journaled, I made things, wrote, glued, colored, created--it was so fun, therapeutic and energizing. Art truly is medicine. So here's a happy version of me that I doodled--flowers in my hair, cupcake skirt on!
